About Me

Is there anything more daunting than someone asking you ‘so tell me a little bit about you?’, is there anywhere else to begin but with the obvious, ‘hello there I am Steph, a 22 year old from Hertfordshire, UK, currently completing her dissertation in International Relations’. Although I will spare you my full elevator pitch.

Steph(h)Jayne is a combination of my first and second name, so yeah, as you can tell I was totally inventive when coming up with my blog name. I originally started this blog as a creative way to express myself. Completing a degree in Modern and International History began to make me feel like a zombie living in a world of black and white, but the world of blogging that I had (not so shamelessly) been looking at from the outside seemed smashed with multicolour. Since then I have used/abused this blog dependent on what my work load is like, and constantly felt bad about the latter.

I feel like I am an eternal student, having completed my Undergraduate degree at Staffordshire University in July 2015, then began my Masters degree at King’s College London in the September of that year I have had countless essays and two dissertations thrown at me in high volume. So I’m your go-to for all things university. Especially any advice on writing academic papers, or even just the good old moving away / living at home because I have done both. Browse all my current posts about my university experience, if you so wish. Please feel free to ask any questions about university you may have, and I will do my absolute best to answer them.

Being a student in higher education for the past four years has left me, however, with limited amount of funds. So don’t expect to see first-class trips to Paris on a weekend, or lots of reviews on high end products. This way I feel as though any reviews I post are truthful and I can really evaluate if I feel a product is really worth the money. I also hope to do a lot of ‘budget’ traveling this summer, and currently have one holiday abroad booked. So if you are interested in traveling posts (centred around the UK) then you have come to the right place. Also, expect to see more recipes as I attempt to add to my current cooking knowledge.

Other than this, I own a (slightly insane) rescue dog named Bella, currently live with my parents in a new town, saving up to move out of said town, and am in a long-distance relationship.

If you were to ask me right now, what I hope my future holds, I would say find a job, preferably in the communications division of a non-governmental organisation, move out to Essex then London, then (here comes the big dream) move to New York.

I really hope to become part of the blogging community as everyone seems so nice and friendly. My social media links are pasted everywhere in this blog, from the side-bar to the bottom of posts. So, if you like what you see/ have read, I would really enjoy having you around.

If you have any other questions about me, either ask on twitter, or drop me an email.
